Selena H. is the owner and sole author of Sizzle & Scrape. Every page here is written and maintained by one person, and the byline on each article links back to this page.
That is deliberate. A great deal of what ranks in this category has no author at all — one of the better-sourced griddle sites we looked at during research prints “no sourced tester review yet” and names nobody. If this site gets something wrong, there is a person to hold responsible for it.
We are not going to pad this section. Selena H. is not a chef, holds no culinary credentials, and has not been awarded anything. Inventing any of that would be the easiest thing in the world and the fastest way to deserve nobody’s trust.
What this site does
It covers flat-top griddles, and almost nothing else. 111 pages on griddles, seasoning, cleaning, accessories, electric and indoor options, and cooking technique.
The work is comparison: taking manufacturer and retailer specifications, putting them into the same table, computing the numbers nobody publishes — heat density above all — and saying plainly which one you should buy and why.
What this site does not do
We do not test griddles. There is no test kitchen, no lab, and no units on loan. Every pick is based on published specifications and reported owner experience, and that sentence appears on every page carrying a recommendation.
We publish no prices. There is no verified price feed on this site, so every price slot says “Check price on Amazon” and the retailer’s page is the only number. A stale price is worse than no price.
We publish no star ratings, review counts or testimonials. We have no verified source for any of them, so there are none anywhere on this site.
If what you need is someone who has cooked on the griddle for six months, a hands-on reviewer is the right source and we would rather tell you that than pretend. The full method, including its limits.
How it is funded

The clearest evidence that commission does not drive the rankings is how often this site tells you to spend less: several pages conclude that a plate for the grill you already own is the right answer, and one asks whether you should buy a griddle at all. Full disclosure.
